As you know, Valentine’s Day is coming up, and I never get to spend it in LA because I’m always in New York for Fashion Week. I’ve always felt like Valentine’s Day should be more than for just your significant other. It’s also a day you should treasure you girlfriends! That’s why I’m happy I get to be in New York with my best friend Linette! And you know what they say, before you can love anyone, you have to love yourself. So this Valentine’s Day I want you to extend that love to yourself! Whether you’re single or taken, this is a great holiday to treat yourself and to get that one special thing you’ve had your eye on. There’s nothing like having a curated collection of pieces thatmake you feel beautiful and special every single day. Today I’ll be sharing 5 ways to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day, because you deserve it!
I think one of the woman’s most easily overlooked accessories is her scent. But there’s nothing quite like having a signature scent that people can remember you by. Of course, scents come and go. For the winter I prefer something a bit deeper and heavier, but for the spring I love something more floral and soft. A signature scent however, is something that is timeless. It can empower you and make you feel all at once beautiful, feminine and strong. For me, one of the scents that I gravitate toward as a timeless scent, if you remember this blog post, is the Gucci Bamboo perfume.
It’s often said that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but I disagree. I think that there’s just something amazing about having the perfect pair of shoes to complete your outfit. For me, that shoe has been my Chanel thigh high boots. I got these for myself before Paris (see similar here!) and I’ve been wearing them non-stop with my couture week outfits. I have to admit it was a little splurge, but it was worth it because they add such a cool and strong element to any look. Sometimes a girl just needs that one pair of shoes to make her day!
The only kind of jewelry I wear now is dainty gold pieces. Although I’ve been loving silver lately too, I find myself constantly going back to delicate feminine pieces. Currently I’m obsessed with chokers (as seen here) as they can immediately add a cool element to my look. Trends come and go, but timeless gold pieces are always a classic in my book.
My Dior lipstick has been my go to for a while now. A good pink lip can instantly brighten up your face when you’re feeling tired (which has definitely been my struggle since Chloe still wakes up in the middle of the night). I love my Dior Delight because it looks very fresh and feels incredibly velvety and the color is long lasting.
While you can never go wrong with a gorgeous lip color or some killer shoes, it’s important to treat your mind too. When you’re so consumed with work and life, it’s hard to remember to find inspiration in the little things. Like I mentioned in the Chic List, I always try to carry around a notepad, or read new books to keep my creative juices flowing. Anything from artwork to beautiful packaging can spark inspiration!
